Soundproofing for the Recycling Industry from the Specialist
Soundproofing for the recycling industry is something we at sta Group plan and manufacture individually for the requirements of your operation. Modern recycling plants process large volumes of material with high efficiency, but in doing so generate some of the highest noise levels in the entire industrial environment. As recycling rates rise, the plants grow, and the need for effective noise control grows with them.
Whether sorting plant, shredding or material processing, every site has its own soundscape. Depending on the fraction being processed, such as plastic, waste paper, metal, construction waste or electronic scrap, the machines used and the resulting levels differ considerably from one another. An off-the-shelf solution rarely does justice to this. We analyse your plant on site and develop from it a protection concept that fits the structural situation, the material flow and your operating hours.
As a full-service provider we take over the entire process, from analysis via design and our own manufacturing through to installation. This way you receive soundproofing for the recycling industry without interface losses and with clear responsibility resting on a single point of contact. That saves coordination effort and protects you from gaps between different trades.
Effectively Reducing Noise Levels at Shredding Plants
Shredders, granulators and crushers are among the loudest machines in a recycling plant and frequently reach over 100 dB(A) in operation. Added to this are granulators, screening plants, baling presses and conveyor belts, which distribute the noise level across the entire hall area. Hammer mills and air separators intensify the burden further, and structure-borne sound is often mixed in via foundations and the steel structure of the hall.
For employees, sustained noise means a genuine health risk, up to noise-induced hearing loss. Stricter occupational safety obligations already apply from a daily noise exposure level of 85 dB(A). Effective soundproofing not only lowers the level but noticeably increases occupational safety and concentration at the individual workplaces.
Protection towards the outside is also important, because many plants lie close to residential or mixed areas. With solutions for sound insulation for industrial outdoor areas we limit the noise as early as the property boundary and thus prevent conflicts with the neighbourhood.
Enclosure or Noise Barrier in the Recycling Operation
Which measure fits depends on the respective noise source and on the available space in the hall. A complete encapsulation with machine enclosures surrounds particularly loud units such as shredders and lowers the radiated sound most effectively. This way the noise stays where it arises and does not spread across the whole hall. Doors, sliding gates and inspection openings keep the plant accessible at all times for maintenance and cleaning despite the encapsulation.
Where a complete enclosure is not possible, industrial noise barriers separate loud areas from quieter zones. Often the combination of several measures is the most economical solution. In addition, absorbing surfaces reduce the reverberation, and sound-damped control stations protect the operating staff at central control positions.
It is important that all components withstand the harsh conditions of a recycling plant, that is dust, moisture and constant vibration. In practice we combine sound insulation and sound absorption into a coherent overall concept. This creates recycling industry soundproofing that tackles the levels at several points at once, instead of treating just a single symptom.
From Sound Measurement to Installation, All from a Single Source
At the start there is always the precise survey. As part of our full-service soundproofing we measure the actual levels at your plants and determine at which points the most effective measures should be applied. In doing so we also take maintenance paths and the accessibility of the machines into account.
On the basis of this measurement we design the solution with 3D CAD and capture the installation situation with a state-of-the-art 3D scanner. Before manufacturing we visualise the result, so that you can assess the solution in advance. In this way we manufacture every element accurate to the millimetre, in our own production and with lengths up to 6 metres.
The conclusion is the installation by our own fitters and trained partner companies. Cleanliness and an on-schedule process have top priority here, so that your operation is interrupted as little as possible. On request we document the achieved level reduction with a control measurement after installation, so that you hold the effect in black and white. You receive this seamless soundproofing for the recycling industry completely from a single source.
