Grinding Booth from the Manufacturer with Full Service from a Single Source
Loud grinding work is shielded by a grinding booth exactly where people and machines share a hall. As the manufacturer, sta Group plans, engineers and produces every unit itself. From the first sound measurement to commissioning, each step feeds cleanly into the next. This leaves no interface between planning, production and installation.
It starts with a digital survey by 3D scanner that captures your grinding station to the millimetre.
On this basis our engineers design the grinding booth in 3D CAD and manufacture the elements in our own production. Components up to 6 m in length are made on an automated plasma system, so that even extensive grinding workstations fit into just a few modules.
Sourced from a specialist manufacturer, a grinding booth saves you the coordination of several trades. Our own fitters or trained partner companies install the unit on site, on schedule and cleanly. If you need enclosed soundproof booths for further workstations, these too come from the same company, which was honoured as a TOP 100 Innovator in 2024.
Clean Air Through Extraction in the Grinding Booth
What is left from grinding besides noise? Flying sparks and fine metal dust. A grinding booth with extraction removes both in a controlled way before they spread through the hall. Clean breathing air at the grinding workstation protects the lungs just as noise control protects hearing.
Into the booth we integrate extraction points directly at the machining zone and route the exhaust air outside through sound-insulated ducts. The noise level of the fans themselves is kept low by a sound-insulated ventilation system. This way the noise reduction of the grinding booth is maintained even while the ventilation runs.
Where welding takes place alongside grinding, we design the unit as a welding and grinding booth with spark protection and a suitable filter stage. Flame-retardant materials and separate extraction circuits ensure that dust, sparks and noise are controlled together. We adapt every grinding booth for industry to your materials and cycle times.
Costs and Benefits of a Grinding Station Enclosure
Is a grinding station enclosure worth it? In most plants it pays off through several levers. Less noise exposure reduces sick days and the risk of permanent hearing damage. At the same time, concentration rises at neighbouring workstations, because the grinding noise no longer travels unhindered through the hall.
The cost of a grinding station enclosure depends on a few factors, namely floor area, required sound insulation value, extraction and the number of doors and viewing windows. Set up as a mobile unit it can be relocated, while permanently installed it achieves higher insulation values. Which solution is more economical is decided by your shift operation and the planned service life.
If an open solution is not enough, we combine the grinding booth with machine enclosures directly at the loudest units. We prepare an honest cost-benefit calculation before every quote, so that you can clearly gauge the effort. Any open questions are clarified with our specialists via our contact page even before the design stage.

Request a Grinding Booth with Noise Control for Your Plant
The level of angle and belt grinders in continuous operation is noticeably reduced by a grinding booth with noise control. Cut-off grinding on steel reaches peak values above 100 dB(A). Such exposure damages hearing gradually, often unnoticed over years. Built as an enclosure, the booth insulates the noise directly at the point of origin instead of carrying it through the whole hall.
Employers face clear action values under the German Noise and Vibration Occupational Health and Safety Ordinance (LärmVibrationsArbSchV):
| Daily noise exposure level | Duty in the plant |
|---|---|
| from 80 dB(A) | provide hearing protection, instruct employees |
| from 85 dB(A) | wear hearing protection, mark the noise area, reduce the level technically |
From 85 dB(A) at the latest, the law requires technical noise reduction, not just personal protective equipment. This is exactly where a grinding booth for noise control comes in. It reduces the source. As a result, the surrounding hall area drops out of the noise zone. Sound-absorbing inner surfaces such as sound absorbers for industry additionally prevent disruptive reverberation.
Insulating wall structures on the outside and absorbing lining on the inside complement each other. This combination decides between perceived and measurable effect. Request a sound measurement for your specific grinding station and we will define the required sound insulation value based on data.
References from Automotive and Mechanical Engineering
Since 1986, sta Group has equipped industrial plants with noise control, including names such as Audi, BMW, Daimler, ThyssenKrupp, KUKA and Schuler. This experience goes into every grinding booth, from material selection to fixing in the hall. References from series production and mechanical engineering show that our solutions withstand continuous operation.
Grinding stations are found particularly often in metalworking, where burrs and weld seams are dressed. Our soundproofing in metalworking bundles this industry knowledge for exactly such applications. Foundries, stamping plants and woodworking operations also rely on custom-made grinding booths rather than off-the-shelf standard products.
If you have a loud grinding workstation coming up, we begin with an on-site measurement and a digital survey. From this a concrete concept emerges with insulation values, extraction and an installation plan. Get in touch and we will develop the right grinding booth for your plant.
